Breastfeeding Checklist It's normal for a breastfeeding baby to nurse between 8-10 times a day (we've included 11 sessions), and it's normal for breastfeeding babies to have 6-9 wet diapers, and 2-5 stools each day. You should also be able to hear your baby swallow as she nurses. One sure sign of babies doing well with breastfeeding, is their weight gain. If you have any problems, we suggest you get help from your hospital, a Lactation Consultant, or a La Leche League Leader. Don't worry if you get off to a rough start -- once you and your baby establish a breastfeeding routine, you won't need to keep track of times anymore. We hope this checklist helps you. :)
