Mammogram Checklist (BSE)
A Mammography (low-level x-ray) is considered the best method to detect abnormal growths in breast tissue. It is recommended that women have a baseline mammogram at least by age 40, and sooner if you have a history of breast cancer in your family. Schedule to go with a friend for support! Keep track of your mammogram visits and any results with this checklist. See below for some mammography tips :-).

Mammogram Tips:
- Do not schedule your mammogram the week before your period. Premenstrual symptoms may make a mammogram uncomfortable.
- 10 days before, abstain from caffeine and avoid taking medication that contains caffeine. Caffeine has a tendency to make breasts more tender and lumpy.
- On the day of your exam, wear a shirt instead of a dress, and do not use any deodorant, powder, perfume, creams, or lotions in your underarm or breast area. These items leave a residue that may be picked up on an x-ray and possibly interfere with your mammogram results.
